The
Spiritual Direction Internship Initiative provides opportunities
for:
Personal growth and development as ministers
An understanding of the theological and psychological bases for
spiritual direction
Improved communication skills within the context of the helping
relationship
Supervised ministry as spiritual directors
Discernment of one's call as a spiritual director
The program meets on 31 Tuesdays from 9:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. in Brighton,
MA, and at St. Joseph Retreat Center for 1 Saturday workshop, a
Weekend Workshop on Dreams and 2 Directed Prayer Weekends. We welcome
men and women of all faiths, whose experience includes:
Ongoing personal prayer
Two years of regular (monthly), one-on-one spiritual direction
A felt call to spiritual companionship
Background in theology
Some experience of pastoral ministry
Evidence of personal maturity
The
Internship Program follows the guidelines of Spiritual Directors
International (www.sdiworld.org)
by including the elements of:
Theological Foundations
Psychological Foundations
Integration with Justice
Discernment
Practicum
Supervision
Requirements
for admission to the program are:
A letter of intent
A completed application form
Three letters of recommendation
A personal interview with staff
