Located on a knoll overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, St. Joseph Retreat Center is an attractive, clean, rambling dwelling that accommodates 17 overnight guests and comfortably hosts up to 35 people for a Morning or Day Program. Most rooms have an ocean view.

Meals are delicious and nutritious with 24-hour availability of snacks, fruit and hot/cold drinks. We do our best to respond to special dietary needs of retreatants.

The Retreat Center is situated 1 mile from a small, public, sandy beach and 2 miles from beautiful Nantasket Beach that features an extended boardwalk. The private beach at the Retreat Center is a stony beach that provides an exceptional, audible accompaniment to the ebb and flow of the waves. Jerusalem Road is an interesting place to walk and gaze at gorgeous ocean scenes and awesome mansions.

HISTORY
ST. JOSEPH RETREAT CENTER

The Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston purchased the property at 339 Jerusalem Road in Cohasset in 1947 for use as a vacation house for the Sisters. In 1974 it was decided to open the spectacular oceanfront mansion and its property, which includes a private shingle beach, to the public as a Retreat Center. For more than 30 years the Retreat Center, with its breathtaking vistas of sea and sky, has attracted thousands of people from near and far. All are welcome who seek relationship with Creator and creation.
