The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston is a Congregation of over 320 women religious and over 80 associates who minister in the Greater Boston area and beyond. We are one of the 16 Congregations which comprise The U.S.Federation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, a dynamic union of all the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the United States who claim a common origin in the foundation at LePuy, France, in the mid-seventeenth century.

Together we strive to embody a vision of all people united in one earth community of love, unity and reconciliation. We do this through collaborative programs, interaction, prayer and ministry. In our conflicted 21st century world, the Sisters of Saint Joseph seek to bring our traditions and vision to life in a way that speaks to our contemporary society and is a positive influence for change.

The basic desire of the Sisters of Saint Joseph is to reflect a profound love of God and neighbor without distinction. Our mission is to live and work inclusively so that all may be one.

Over the past year the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston have engaged with a consultant company to study the organizational structure and roles needed at and best suited for St. Joseph Retreat Center. As a result of this study, the center will now have a Program Director, who oversees all dimensions of program planning and implementation, and an Executive Director, who oversees all aspects of the facility, finances, etc. We hope this new structure will provide for the sustainability of this deeply blessed and desperately needed ministry well into the future.

Two of the new role descriptions are listed here for your consideration and discernment: Executive Director and Administrative Assistant to the Program Director. Other roles will be forthcoming soon. If you feel called to apply for one of these new ministries, please click on the appropriate link and follow the directives for submitting your resume.

Joan M. McCarthy, CSJ will continue as the Program Director.
